A simple example of exposition for a CYOA interactive novel.

You stand atop a towering cliff overlooking the Silverfall Meadows. A familiar sight, to be sure, though one rarely so serene. Most years, the Winter season's bitter chill is unforgiving; in its wake, the realm is left a lifeless apparition of its former self, only to be rejuvenated moons later, when the Spring Equinox heralds the start of the New Year.
And yet, today, the frigid winds are gone. Nary a cloud marrs the empyrean sky, and a radiant shine glitters the horizon. You feel a calm, almost tranquil breeze wash over you. Your lofty perch affords you an encompassing view of the land your people call home, and you cannot help but marvel at the sights that you behold. Far, far in the distance, you see awe-inspiring, snow-capped mountains whose granite peaks appear to stretch beyond the skyline, rising as though spires that reach unto the Heavens themselves; they stand watch, acting as watchful sentinels guarding the lea. Majestic waterfalls guide resplendent, cascading waters along the steep incline of the mountains' precipice, which eventually descend along the mountainside to gather in rippling pools of sapphire below.
These pools, too, hang on a lofty precipice, causing the waters to crash violently against aggregations of rock and rubble, before gradually feeding a number of streams that all converge and coalesce into a single, flowing river that stretches across the mainland. Your view of the narrow waterway is partially obscured by tall grass that complements it, and though its sway has a certain charm to it, you shudder at the mere thought of wading through those tangled depths.
